The UT men's basketball team is kicking off the new year by inspiring others on Wednesday.

Members of the team took time to visit with patients at Children's Hospital and the Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center.

The players toured the hospitals, visited with patients, and signed autographs.

It meant a lot to the patients, but the players got something out of the visit as well.

"You know, just to come see these kids and hopefully brighten their day a little bit makes it all worth while," said Skylar McBee.

"It means a lot, it gets to show you how fortunate you definitely are. It is just a great thing to come here during the day and see how happy they are and just be able to do things like this," said Trae Golden.

"Especially during this time of year, it's a new beginning for everybody. Anybody who feels like they want to accomplish something, we just want to get out here and provide that feeling for them," said Jeronne Maymon.

This Friday at Thompson-Boling Arena is the team's highly anticipated match up against Memphis.  They're asking fans to wear orange to the game so that they can have an "orange-out" on Friday.
