Monday will mark exactly six years since the murders of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom.
On Sunday, both families came together to remember the life of Newsom. About 100 people attended a ceremony in Claxton at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens as a way to show their support.
"My family and I want to thank you for being here," said Chris' father, Hugh Newsom.
He and Mary Newsom, Chris' mother, say they are still waiting for justice to be served in the case of their son. They told attendees they have been to court 291 times since the Christian-Newsom murders occurred January 7, 2007.
"We need all the help we can get so we can finally get some justice," Mary Newsom said.
Gary and Deena Christian, Channon's parents, also attended the Sunday ceremony. They said they were thankful for the region's support.
"That's what gets us through each trial," Deena Christian said.
The Christians will hold a similar ceremony to remember their daughter on Monday. The public is invited to attend.
It will be held at Highland West Memorial Park in West Knoxville at 5:30 p.m.
