If emergency crews didn't have enough to handle this morning with a rock slide on Alcoa Highway, several roads in Knox County were under water or blocked following days of steady rain.

The result was a slow commute rife with several accidents and delays.

Knox County dispatchers say flooding and downed lines and a tree on Hardin Valley Rd. near Brighton Farms snarled traffic in front of Hardin Valley Academy eventually closing the road.

Drivers making the commute from Blount County into Knoxville were slowed by one northbound lane closure due to a rock slide near the Marine Center.

There was a rock slide at the same spot in March 2012 which closed the road for almost two months.
