Black ice continued to be a concern for authorities late Friday night as sub-freezing temperatures allowed some wet roads to re-freeze following the freezing rain earlier in the day.
TDOT crews were continuing to treat interstates and other highways, and a spokesperson reported no major problems in East Tennessee.
There's still a concern for black ice, especially on side streets and back roads that are less likely to get the attention of road crews.
"The fact that a TDOT truck was involved in an accident today shows you just how dangerous it can be in these situations. It's going to be difficult to get every single piece of ice in East Tennessee."
City of Knoxville officials said they planned to work through the night treating as many roads as they could.
Few accidents were reported Friday night, and KUB reported only a handful of power outages.
