Body found in South Knox Co. retaining pond has been identified

The man whose body was found floating in a retaining pond in South Knox County Tuesday night has been identified.

Investigators say James Dobbins, 54, lived on Woodlawn School Road.   He was reported missing by his wife on January 28th. She said he had made death threats against her and suicide threats in the past.

Foul play is not suspected in his death.

Crews pulled a man's body from a retaining pond on Woodlawn School Road in South Knox County at about 9:30 Tuesday night.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office says a woman who lives on the property spotted the body and called 911.

Detectives say there appear to be no signs of foul play.

The medical examiner's office is working to identify the body and the cause of death.
