The Roane State Community College choir is headed to Carnegie Hall, and is fundraising to get them there.
Tuesday, along with the Rockwood Event Center, the choir hosted a Mardi Gras masquerade. Tickets were $15 for one, $25 for two, and featured jazz singers, masks, jazz music and a silent auction.
The students are thrilled to be performing in such a historic venue.
"It's always a wonderful opportunity to go to New York and perform in Carnegie Hall no matter what, but especially having a Roane State alum conducting us is a very special occasion," said Choral Director Brenda Luggie.
The choir will be performing under Roane State alum Brian Bacon along with other choirs from across the country.
