A suspected crack cocaine dealer is behind bars after a raid by Knoxville Police.
On Wednesday, KPD's Repeat Offender Squad executed a search warrant at 316 E. Churchwell Avenue, after a investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine from the residence. They found 22 grams of crack cocaine, a handgun, and $3000. Police also searched the house next door, which was believed to be connected to the crimes. Officers found another gun in that house.
The homeowner and suspect, Rodney Harris, 39, was sitting in a vehicle in front of the house, and was taken into custody. He had a handgun in the vehicle.
KPD says after Harris was taken into custody, he threatened the officers, saying he was going to go on a rampage when he got out.
Harris was charged with multiple state charges including Drug Free School Zone for possessing with intent to distribute cocaine within a 1000 feet of a daycare and Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Dangerous Felony. In addition, a hold was placed on Harris for the A.T.F. as Federal charges will be sought for Harris on a felon in possession of a firearm charge.
