Knox County Sheriff's Office is searching for at least two suspects involved in an armed robbery at a Pizza Hut in West Knoxville Friday night.
According to a KCSO press release, a man armed with a gun entered the Pizza Hut on the 9000 block of Kingston Pike shortly before 11:00 p.m.
Deputies said the suspect approached an employee at the front counter and demanded that he show him where the safe was located. He then pointed the gun at the employees and made them all lie on the ground. Next, he grabbed cash from the safe and register and ran out the front door.
As the suspect was leaving the store, he pointed the gun at a delivery driver who was walking up to the front door and demanded he stay outside.
Witnesses said the suspect fled the scene on foot, but got into the passenger side of a red Honda Civic. The vehicle drove off in an unknown direction.
Authorities said the suspect has noticeably green eyes and was approximately 25-30 years old. He's about 5'8"- 5'9" and weighs approximately 150-160 pounds. Witnesses said he was wearing a faded camouflage jacket at the time of the robbery.
