Knox County Schools' central office could eventually have a new home.
Superintendent Dr. Jim McIntyre says he has talked to the owners of the former Standard Knitting Mill about the possibility of moving the central offices to the building.
Those discussions are only preliminary, and there are no solid plans to make a move.
The district's offices currently are located in the Andrew Johnson Building on Gay Street.
The Standard Knitting Mill on Washington Avenue is an historic building listed on the Fragile 15 list put out by preservation group Knox Heritage.
