Oak Ridge leaders heard from the public Thursday about a proposal to toughen the city's rules for some lighted signs.
A business owner said the city warned him last year about messages on the digital sign in front of his business that could be distracting to drivers. He said he wasn't aware that anything on the sign might be illegal.
The city took public opinion as leaders hope to clarify the ordinance regulating those signs.
The Oak Ridge City Council plans to discuss the issue further at a work session on Monday at 7 o'clock.
