Six people say they were robbed at gunpoint in a home in East Knoxville Friday night.

Knoxville police say they responded to a home invasion call on Fifth Ave. at about 9:21 Friday night. When they arrived, four females and two males said they had been robbed.

The victims say three masked men had entered the home through an unlocked front door. They say one of the suspects was armed with a shotgun and one was armed with a handgun.

Officers say the suspects ordered the victims into a small room, then struck the two male victims with the butts of their guns. The suspects then took three purses from the female victims and fled on foot.

According to police, the shotgun was fired once during the robbery, but nobody was hit.

The male victims refused medical treatment, and none of the females were injured.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Knoxville Police Department at 865-215-7000.
