After a public vote, the location for the next Knox Cash Mob has been selected.
It will be held at McLemore Florist, located at 106 E. Young High Pike, from 5-7p on Friday, March 15.
You can help pick the next local business that benefits from a Knox Cash Mob.
Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett started the cash mobs last year, to help businesses who were facing touch economic times. The first cash mobs were held in South Knoxville, to help businesses impacted by the closure of the Henley Bridge.
The next Cash Mob will be in South Knoxville as well, but the county is asking the public to help pick the business.
Nominations will be accepted through noon on Friday, March 1, at http://www.knoxcounty.org/cashmob. Nominated businesses should be locally owned and located in South Knoxville, and previous Knox Cash Mob locations, the Disc Exchange, Emery's 5 and 10, and Wee Care Shop, are not eligible. Knox County says they reserve the right to withdraw certain businesses from consideration if, among other things, the business serves a very limited clientele.
The top locations will go into an online poll where the public can vote, beginning at 5 pm on Friday. Voting will end at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6. The winning business will be announced on Friday, March 8.
"We get a lot of feedback from people with suggestions for possible cash mob locations," said Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett. "This is a good way to get the community and local businesses directly involved in deciding the location of the next Knox Cash Mob."
