A Roane County High grad who was part of the Charles Manson cult will not be leaving prison anytime soon.
Bruce Davis was convicted on two counts of first-degree murder in the early '70s.
He was recently recommended for parole at his 27th parole hearing. His attorney says Davis has earned religious degrees while in jail, but California's governor says when the evidence is considered as a whole, it shows the 70-year-old still poses a danger to society.
The state board previously recommended Davis for parole in 2010, but the governor at the time, Arnold Schwarzenegger reversed that decision.
