Crescent Bend on Kingston Pike opened its house and gardens to brides and party planners on Sunday.
The antebellum house and botanical garden can accommodate up to 250 guests. Its back yard overlooks the Tennessee River. The event featured caterers, photographers and live entertainment. Its goal was to attract people considering a venue for possible weddings, holiday parties, meetings and even picnics.
Crescent Bend event coordinator Judy McMillan said events help preserve the history of the home.
"Crescent Bend is a historic home built in 1834. Whenever you have an event here, you are helping to preserve a part of historic Knoxville," said McMillan. "For people coming here today, I hope to offer them confidence that if they choose Crescent Bend, all of their needs will be taken care of."
