Arson investigators are looking into why a south Knoxville tattoo shop caught fire early Tuesday morning.
According to a press release from the Knoxville Fire Department, Chapman Highway was closed for a couple of hours while crews worked to contain the fire at Second Generation Tattoo and Savway Tobacco.
A KFD spokesperson says a passing driver saw the fire at the building that houses the two businesses just after midnight.
When firefighters arrived, they found that the tattoo business had the most severe flames. They say the fire had reached into the attic.
Crews stretched water lines across Chapman Highway from hydrants across from the fire closing the road until 2:30 a.m.
No one was injured as the firefighters worked several hours to contain the flames.
A cause for the fire has not been determined yet.
