Knoxville mayor Madeline Rogero announced a $20,000 grant that will go to help South Knoxville businesses hurt by the closure of the Henley Bridge. Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett is matching the city's grant with another $20,000.

The city plans to add signs along major highways directing traffic to the Chapman Highway business district.

TDOT announced last month bridge repairs and reconstruction will take months longer than expected. The bridge likely won't open until February of next year.

The city grant will go before City Council for approval later this month.
