A bill that would re-establish the industrial hemp industry in Kentucky has died at the state legislature.
The proposal would let the state quickly license hemp growers if the federal government lifts its ban.
The bill recently got a boost in support from US Senator Mitch McConnell who said it would help farmers in his state and produce more jobs.
Law enforcement wasn't fond of the bill. They said growers could use hemp to camouflage marijuana.
The hemp bill cleared the Senate but got stuck in a House committee.
