A litter of puppies that were saved by crews battling a massive mountain fire in Sevier County will soon be looking for a new home.

The pups were found underneath one of the endangered cabins in the Black Bear Ridge Resort in Wears Valley area.  The huge fire destroyed 161 acres and dozens of cabins.

The rescuers heard the pups crying so crawled underneath to get them to safety.  Their mother was not with them.

The four-week-old litter was taken to the Sevier County Humane Society.  They are taking good care of them until they are big enough to adopt, in about four weeks.
