AL Lotts Elementary teacher Karla Fultz won a $25,000 classroom makeover in this year's Extreme Classroom Makeover contest. It's put on by the Oak Ridge Associated Universities.

The money will be used to buy things like iPads and laptops to enhance the technology in Fultz's classroom.

Fultz and her students have entered the contest in the past, but the third time was the charm.

"I had a friend win it four years ago, and ever since he won it I've worked every year to find ways to be creative and show ways that we need technology. And we've learned every year and benefited every year just from the experience, but this year... it's pretty exciting," said Fultz.

ORAU will work with Fultz and the school to determine how the money will be spent, and then buy and install the products.

The newly made-over classroom will be unveiled later this summer.
