Dr. Tom Kim, Founder of the Free Clinic of America
Morgan County residents now have access to free medical care. Dr. Tom Kim opened his fifth Free Medical Clinic on Wednesday in the Deer Lodge Community Library.
The new clinic will be open on Wednesday afternoons. Any Morgan County residents ages 16 and older who don't have medical insurance can be seen. Appointments are required.
The Morgan Scott Project for Cooperative Christian Concerns partnered with Dr. Kim on the clinic.
Organizers hope the clinic will help address the lack of medical care options in the area.
"There is no health care providers anywhere close to this area. You are at least 20 to 25 minutes from the nearest doctor's office. I mean, that's if you speed around these curves," said Ella Smith, executive director of the Morgan Scott Project.
The Morgan Scott Project eventually hopes to expand the care if they get more doctors and nurses to volunteer.
If you would like to volunteer or set up an appointment, call (423) 965-3131 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
