A Hawkins County man who authorities say they caught trying to flush part of his "stash" is now behind bars.

After a lengthy drug investigation, the Hawkins County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit and Tactical Unit got a search warrant for the home of Johnny Michael Stallard, 37, and Desera Jade Allen, 24, on Rocky Hill Lane in Church Hill.

When they went to serve the warrant, officers caught Stallard attempting to flush about one-and-a-half pounds of marijuana down the toilet.  The officers were able to confiscate that pot, along with another half a pound found in the house.

During their search, the officers also found Suboxone Pills and Suboxone sublingual strips, which are classified as a schedule III controlled substance;  "Dragon" bath salts; and drug paraphernalia including digital scales, plastic baggies, used and unused syringes, and spoons with drug residue.

Narcotics officers also seized numerous items from the home, which are believed to have been purchased with proceeds from illegal drug sales. These items include vehicles, motorcycles, assorted electronics, and tools.

Stallard was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance (Suboxone) with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Contraband Bath Salts, Destruction or Tampering with Evidence, Maintaining a Dwelling Where Narcotics are Housed or Sold, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
