As Vietnam veterans mark a major milestone, Tennesseans recognized their service on Friday.
This week, Governor Haslam signed a proclamation designating March 29th as a day of remembrance. Tennessee became the first state to proclaim a Vietnam veterans' day in 2008.
March 30th marks the 40th anniversary of troops being pulled out of Vietnam.
Around 6,000 Tennessee troops were wounded in the war, and more than 1,200 Tennessee service members were killed.
