One local solider returned to East Tennessee late Sunday night for the first time in more than a year.
Pfc. Dustin Bunch was apart of the 2/1 Infantry Trojans out of Fort Lewis in Seattle, WA. He was deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan for eight months and spent several months in Seattle as well.
Bunch said he was thrilled to see all his friends and family welcome him home at McGhee Tyson Airport.
"All the people I love in the same place, I haven't seen in a long time, it's amazing. It really is," said Bunch. "Feels really good."
Last night was also the first time Bunch got to hold his brand niece as well. It was a great ending to a hero's homecoming.
