People had the opportunity to tour a new residential complex at Paul Hogue Park in East Knoxville on Monday.
The Knoxville Community Development Corporation hosted a walk through of the "Five Points" complex, which will have 15 units after completion. The housing development provides new affordable housing duplexes on Chestnut Street, and it's part of the second phase of new public housing in the area.
KCDC Executive Director and CEO Alvin Nance said this development is a push to revitalize the community as a whole.
"We realize there is still work to be done. The city of Knoxville, KCDC and our community partners must continue to come together to see real change in this community," said Nance.
Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and Nance welcomed about 50 people and gave a brief overview of the development along with future plans for the site.
In the past month, KCDC opened up two other complexes that have already been leased out to other families.
