Five Knoxville students are on their way to the White House.

Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Elementary is sending five kids who will help First Lady Michelle Obama plant vegetables in the south lawn garden on Thursday.

This is the fifth year of the event, and the first time a Knoxville school is invited.

Mrs. Obama invited children from schools that have made exceptional improvements to school lunches.  It's all part of the Health, Hunger-free Kid's Act."

This past fall, the school started a garden that helps kids learn about American presidents who had a role in gardening and stewardship.

Our own Robin Wilhoit will travel to Washington, DC, to document this wonderful experience for our local kids, and will get to interview the First Lady.
