Lenoir City High School is taking steps to better prepare its students for their future careers.

The school will start a STEM Academy this fall.   Students can choose from programs that focus on pre-engineering, pre-veterinary medicine, plant science, health care, math or science.

Applications will go out to students next week.

Rising freshmen, sophomores and juniors that meet program requirements may apply.

School administrators say they've been preparing to create a STEM Academy for a few years, and they're excited to see those plans get off the ground.
