Knox County students showed off their singing talents on Market Square. Hundreds showed up for Friday's CTE Goes Live.
It's the final round of Knox County Schools' version of American Idol. It incorporates lessons from the county's career and technical education classes. Spectators can text in their vote, and along with judges, help pick the winner.
"All these kids didn't know each other, now it's as if everyone's a big family. It is truly amazing. Everybody is truly excited and the really neat thing about this is they've been very encouraging to one another. It's not like a competition at all," said Organizer Tracey Labelle-Speeks.
The winner will be sent to Nashville to professionally record a song at Nash10 Studio.
