The Knoxville Fire Department teamed up with Rural Metro and several local colleges to teach people about CPR on Market Square Sunday afternoon.
Nurses and emergency responders used dummies to give people a quick 15 minute lesson how to properly give CPR.
KFD Capt. Mark Wilbanks said their goal was to teach as many people as possible these techniques just in case they're involved in a life or death situation.
"This is extremely important because someone who knows CPR may be the first person by someone's side who has gone into cardiac arrest. That person is integral to saving that person's life," said Willbanks.
Anyone who finished the 15 minute class earned a certificate of completion.
