Habitat for Humanity organized a volunteer appreciation luncheon Sunday afternoon in East Knoxville.
The luncheon comes a week and a half after nearly 1,800 volunteers participated in a multi-house blitz, fixing seven homes in seven days in its Silver Leaf subdivision.
Marv House, who has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for 18 years, said to see how many lives they touched is truly amazing.
"To see the effects of a home that we can build with the families, helping them help themselves and to see the results of it is just heart pounding. It's just a wonderful opportunity for these families," explained House. "It's a wonderful opportunity for us to help them."
Habitat for Humanity organizers said Sunday's lunch is just a small sign of their appreciation for the volunteers who help drive their organization.
