For the first time, the founder of Pilot and father of C.E.O. Jimmy Haslam talked publicly about the federal raid at the company last week.
Jim Haslam accepted an award at a Leadership Knoxville event on Tuesday.
He defended his son, saying he knows he did nothing wrong. He said the company is doing an investigation and if there are problems or discrepancies, they would be corrected. He said if they owe anyone any money, they will be paid.
Jim Haslam also told the crowd that Pilot would remain committed, now more than ever, to Knoxville and East Tennessee. That was met with a standing ovation.
