Education officials honored students and teachers at a local elementary school for their scores on the TCAP tests.
Crab Orchard Elementary got the 2013 Value-Added Achievement Award. It honors schools that have big gains year-to-year on TCAP scores.
Students, teachers and staff celebrated at an assembly on Tuesday. The principal says it is a reward for all their hard work.
"The kids come to school as often as they can and teachers teach from the time they get here until they go home. Everyone works really, really hard," said Principal Rebecca Farley.
Crab Orchard Elementary students will begin TCAPs again on Friday. The tests began at certain grade levels statewide on Tuesday.
