Four East Tennessee veterans got VIP treatment Tuesday night ahead of Wednesday's Honor Air trip to Washington, DC.

The Senior Home Assistance of Tennessee picked up the four vets in a stretch limousine and took them out for a nice dinner at Club LeConte in Downtown Knoxville.

Organizer Tommy Spencer says it's a small token of appreciation for their service.

Wednesday, the four veterans will join dozens of others for the 14 Honor Air flight. They'll head to our nation's capital to check out the memorials built in their honor.

"I think this is wonderful. It's giving guys a chance to do things, see things they normally wouldn't have seen. I think that's just great," said Air Force veteran Jim Morris.

The veterans leave for DC Wednesday morning and will get an official send off ceremony. They'll return home at 8 o'clock. Honor Air is inviting everyone to come to McGhee Tyson to give these vets a warm welcome home.
