Friday morning, a line of police cars from dozens of different departments surrounded an Oneida church.
They were all there to pay their respects to a fellow officer who lost his battle with a lingering illness.
Sgt. Brian Boshears, 50, of Oneida, died earlier this week after a lengthy battle with pneumonia.
Thursday night, hundreds of people filed into Bethlehem Baptist Church to visit with the family and for a Celebration of Life service.
Friday around 12:30 pm, a procession left the church to proceed to Boshear's burial at Carson Cemetery.
"He was always willing to help. You know in our profession with all the uncertainties we have every day... the one thing we know we have and the one thing we know we can count on is each other," Scott Co. Sheriff Mike Cross said.
Sgt. Boshears was a 25-year veteran of the THP.
"Given the circumstances, it's been really hard on us as a department. Brian was loved in this department and he's going to be missed," said Larry Blakney, a THP state trooper who worked with Sgt. Boshears.
Oneida and Scott County officers spent the first part of the day managing traffic control and safety for an annual walk against child abuse.
