A well known fast food chain is helping make life a little easier for one local family.

Baby Elijah James was born with a rare form of Spina Bifida. Thursday, the Homberg Drive Chick-Fil-A held a fundraiser for Baby Eli from 5 to 8. A portion of all sales will go to the James family to help them pay for Eli's medical treatment.

The family is grateful for the support they've received so far.

"The family is overwhelmed with the community and support from Chick-Fil-A," said family friend Courtney Luttrell.

"Whether there's a struggling family or if it's a non-profit organization, we just like to reach out and help whoever we can however we can, so really blessed to be a part of an organization that allows us to do that freely," said Ashley Sachs with Chick-Fil-A.

Baby Eli is the only living person with his form of Spina Bifida.
