East Tennesseans prepare for another weekend full of wet weather.

Last weekend, it rained through the entire Rossini Festival in Downtown Knoxville and now it looks like just as much rain will look to dampen festivals and events this Saturday and Sunday.

But, Knoxville Special Events Director Judith Foltz said many planned events will try to go on.

"We carry on and do the best we can do," Foltz said.

The school-age health initiative "Let's Move" still plans to gather in Victor Ashe Park Saturday. The Market Square Farmers' Market will set up shop Saturday as well.

And, then, there's the National Street Rod Association car show at Chilhowee Park. It too is scheduled to go on as planned Saturday and Sunday.

The Knoxville Zoo has actually planned ahead for inclement weather events. It has 10 indoor and covered attractions that give visitors an alternative whenever the weather is a bit wild.

"The whole point of adding indoor areas as we continue to build and develop the zoo is that we can be an attraction rain or shine," said Lisa New, the zoo's interim executive director.

She added if you're at the zoo when it rains, you can stop in the zoo shop and pick up tickets to attend the attraction another day.
