All lanes of I-40 have reopened after a rockslide closed one lane near the Roane-Cumberland County line earlier Monday.
A rockslide closed one lane of I-40 West near milemarker 338 Monday morning, according to dispatchers. The location is in Roane County, but is very close to the Roane County - Cumberland County line.
Earlier today, equipment was sent to the site to break up the rock into smaller pieces so it could be cleared by TDOT maintenance crews. They've also put up concrete barricades to block any further material from falling onto the roadway.
If all goes well, TDOT hopes to have the right lane reopened by 9 pm Monday night.
