KPD announces new deputy chief

(WBIR- Knoxville) The Knoxville Police Department has a new deputy chief.

Chief David Rausch announced Tuesday that Captain Monty Houk will move to the post later this month. Houk has been with KPD since 1989 and is currently assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division where he oversees several units, including the Organized Crime Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Houk is replacing Deputy Chief Gus Paidousis, who is the new chief of security for Knox County Schools.
