Large hail of up to a quarter and half-dollar-size fell on parts of Knox, Anderson and Blount counties Sunday afternoon.
Severe storm warnings for Knox and several other counties were allowed to expire, but a warning for Anderson Co. remained in effect until 2:30 p.m.

Severe Thunderstorm warning for Loudon Co., Morgan Co., Roane Co. until 1:15 p.m.
The national weather service Doppler Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm that could produce quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. The storm was located near Kingston at 12:12 p.m. moving southeast at 15 mph.
The National Weather Service says that this is a dangerous storm. It advisses residents of Loundon, Lenoir City, Paint Rock, Bradbury, and Philadelphia to prepare for damaging winds, destructive hail and cloud to ground lightning. They advise people to go indoors away from windows.
