Powell Presbyterian Church hosted a Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry Sunday for families struggling around the area.
Church Clerk Dan Jarvis said even during these warm months, it's important to keep the spirit of giving alive and help out the community year-round.
"You don't have to be physically strong and things like that to help like this," said Jarvis. "There's something for everyone to do to just reach out and help people with this."
Jarvis explained people in need aren't always homeless, but still need an extra boost.
People from all across East Tennessee ventured out to Powell to get food they might not get otherwise.
