Judge Deborah C. Stevens became Knox County's newest circuit court judge on Wednesday.
Governor Bill Haslam swore Stevens in as the 6th District Judge at the City-County Building.
Steven's has practiced law for more than 30 years in Tennessee.
Governor Haslam says he thinks Stevens is ready for the job.
"I do think it's important. She's managed her law firm for 15 years with 60 attorneys, and that's a big responsibility, and everybody you'd talk to would say she did a great job with that," said Gov. Haslam.
Stevens replaces Judge Wheeler Rosenbalm, who retired in January after 22 years on the stand.
