West Knox Co. man faces attempted murder charges for machete attack

(WBIR-Jacksboro) A West Knox County man is facing attempted murder charges after he attacked a man with a machete in Campbell County on Wednesday, June 19 shortly before 10:20 p.m.

Campbell County Sheriff's Office charged Pablo Carmona, 30, of Dearing Way in West Knox County with attempted 1st degree murder, aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Deputies accuse Carmona of trespassing onto 39-year-old David G. Marlow's property on Mt. Paron Loop in Jacksboro. According to a report, Carmona hid on the property with a machete over four inches long, waiting for Marlow to return home. When Marlow arrived at his house, Carmona came up behind him and struck in the back of the head.

Marlow told authorities he fought back, and officials said the victim suffered serious injuries.

A witness drove Marlow to Tennova Medical Center for treatment.
