An Andersonville man is charged with BUI after an overnight boating accident on Norris Lake.

TWRA officials told 10News the accident happened in Union County, on the water between Waterside Marina and Point 19.

Around midnight Sunday morning, officials said a runabout boat with five people on board ran into the back of a pontoon boat. There were six people on-board the pontoon.

A female passenger in the pontoon boat went to Tennova-North Knoxville Medical Center with a minor head injury. Two people in the runabout boat were ejected into the water. TWRA said those individuals were not wearing life jackets, and were assisted by another nearby boat. Their names have not been released.

TWRA is still investigating the accident. Officials have charged the driver of the runabout boat, 26-year old Joshua Logan Ford of Andersonville, with Boating Under the Influence (BUI).

TWRA officials said Ford and the driver of the other boat both consented to a blood sample, but the results are not yet available.
