(WBIR - West Knox County) The Smoky Mountain Shaggers Club on Sunday boogied down to help support those who've been wounded in battle.
The club's annual dance party, the Smoky Mountain Boogy helped raise more than $2,500 for the Wounded Warriors Project.
The man responsible for presenting the check said it is the least he can do to pay tribute to the people who risk their lives for America's safety and freedom.
"They're killing themselves, they're dying at the rate every day at a rate of 22 a day. That's just unconscionable. And just to raise awareness and raise money for these guys is the least we can do for what they've done for us," Ron Broyles said.
Broyles along with other riders, will bike 1,200 miles from Sevierville to the Florida Keys to present donations, like Sunday's, to Wounded Warriors.
The program runs now through the first week of September.
