A Virginia couple says a Hawkins County woman shot at them and their children as they tried to turn their car around in her driveway.
It happened Sunday on Bays Mountain Road in Rogersville, according to an arrest report.
Oscar Scott told the Kingsport Times-News that he and his family were trying to take a scenic route back into Virginia and almost immediately after crossing the Hawkins County line, the woman started shooting.
Scott told the paper one bullett actually hit the running board on the passenger side of his car, just a few feet from where his five children were sitting.
Hawkins County deputies arrested 72-year-old Margie Rhea Ramey. They say she admitted to firing the shots because she has a problem with people tearing up her driveway.
She's charged with 7 counts of felony reckless endagerment.
