UT's Pride of the Southland Marching Band will be adding to the pre-race excitement at one of NASCAR's most popular events.

Bristol Motor Speedway announced Wednesday that the Pride would perform the famed Circle Drill before the Irwin Tools Night Race on August 24.  You can also bet the band will play a little Rocky Top for the race fans.

"The Pride of The Southland Marching Band is honored to be a part of the pageantry and excitement of the performing at Bristol Motor Speedway," said Dr. Gary Sousa, director of bands at UT. "It will be a tremendous thrill for our students to play in this world famous Tennessee venue and on this massive stage. We are looking forward to putting on a great show for everyone."
