(WBIR-Knoxville) A teenager is in custody after police say he fired an airsoft gun at a Knox County school bus.
Officers were called to Joe Lewis Road at Daylily Drive just before 4:00 pm to investigate.
They determined that a 17-year-old male fired the airsoft gun at the bus. The bus driver was hit a couple of times, causing a welt on his skin. He refused medical treatment.
The teen was taken into custody, and charged with one count of Aggravated Assault and one count of Reckless Endangerment. He is being transported to the Knox County Juvenile Detention Facility.
Knox County Schools say the bus involved was #250, which serves South Doyle Middle School. There were 74 kids on the bus. None of them were injured.
