Several East Tennessee school districts will get millions of dollars from federal education dollars.
The Tennessee Department of Education will give $8 million to 83 districts. It's part of the $500 million the state won three years ago in the national Race to the Top education grant competition.
Officials say the 83 districts implemented one innovative program in three categories: teacher evaluation, student assignments, or implementation of the Common Core standards.
Several districts will get that $8 million in funding including Knox, Blount, Grainger, and Loudon County school districts.
