Tuesday night, Knoxville City Council members postponed a vote about the future of an apartment complex at Northshore Town Center. They will pick up debate again on October 1.
In part, the plan calls for building a new living space to help support town center stores.
Council also postponed a zoning change for 90 days tied to giving UT full control over a series of city streets near campus. The transfer of ownership would shift responsibility for cleaning up and maintaining those streets to UT.
In turn the university can close them or redirect traffic without seeking permission from the city, but city council members say they need more time to study the issue.
