The Volunteers held their first scrimmage of spring practice, and the offense took home the bragging rights Saturday.

Tennessee's fourth practice of the spring featured a unique scoring system that awarded points to either the offense or defense on every play of the scrimmage and even in several individual drills. In the end, offense sneaked a win on the defense 90-89.

UT head coach Butch Jones said about 600 people came out for the two-and-a-half hour practice, including current players' families and many former vols.

The scrimmage was fast-paced with not a lot of down time and sprinting between drills.

With one week in the book down, Jones said he's pleased with where the team is now, but said they've still got a long road of improvement to go.

Justin Worley and Nathan Peterman split the first team's snaps during the scrimmage. Worsley was a bit inconsistent towards the beginning of practice, but found a grove on the last couple possessions.
