The Lady Vols have the Final Four in their sights, but they have to get through the team that pulled off a huge upset of the defending champs to get there!
Tennessee (27-7) faces Louisville (27-8) Tuesday night at 9 pm in the NCAA Elite 8 game from Oklahoma City. The game will be televised on ESPN.
Tennessee easily defeated Oklahoma on Sunday, 74-59, to advance to the game. Louisville battled #1 Baylor, shutting down 6'8" star Brittany Griner for most of the game. The Cardinals led for most of the contest, but had to battle it out in the final seconds when Baylor came roaring back.
The winner of Tuesday's game advances to the NCAA Final Four, which will be held April 7 and 9 at the New Orleans Arena. They will play California, a #2 seed, which advanced Monday night by defeating Georgia.
The Lady Vols longtime nemesis, UConn, has also earned a spot in the Final Four, by defeating Kentucky. They will play the winner of Tuesday night's game between Duke and Notre Dame.
Tennessee is making its 26th appearance in the NCAA Elite Eight and owns an 18-7 all-time record in its previous 25 contests.
The Lady Vols are making their third-consecutive appearance in the Elite Eight and are seeking their first trip to the Final Four since 2008 and 19th overall.
